You Feel Happiness Down to Your Genes

Groundbreaking findings from HopeLab's Dr. Steve Cole in collaboration with Dr. Barbara Fredrickson. They found a riskier genomic profile among people who experience happiness from consuming experiences that bring pleasure (think shopping) versus those who experience happiness that comes from pursuing a cause greater than yourself (think about the smiles of Gandhi and Mother Teresa).  Now there's biological evidence at the level of genes for the importance of living purposeful lives!
